For the new library space, I decided to go with the name of School Creation Hub, because it emphasizes creativity over consumption. I go into some detail in the actual video above, but I was reluctant to name it the "student creation hub" because the Library Learning Commons model can truly serve the whole school community and beyond. It's more than a lot of individual things on their own but works as a combination of these things.
One added element of this video proposal (with mostly stock photos, I'm afraid) is the demonstration as celebration philosophy, wherein I hope to use student creations built and developed within the Library Learning Commons as authentic artifacts for display. It helps to push the inquiry model while celebrating student work.
My very first teaching position back in 2010 was overseas at a school called The Langley Academy. The model at the time was to act as a museum school for the purposes of student exploration. For all of the faults of that school, it did manage to get a number of things right when it came to authentic artifacts for inquiry. I wanted to shift that model as a means to highlight, inspire and encourage student creation through play, making, tinkering and inquiry in the LLC space. Hence, the (idea of the) School Creation Hub was born.
Question:
How might a museum-style approach to inquiry artifacts sustain itself in an original way within the LLC?

Hey Christian,
Your presentation is set up so well! It's clear you put a lot of thought and time into it, and your passion towards the LLC really shines through. I've actually never heard of museum school/museum-style, however I think that you definitely have the right ideas of how you want to approach that/make it your own and as influential as possible as you explain in the video. I think that in itself is very unique and I'm excited to see how your ideas for it expand and grow as you continue with all of this!

Christian,
Great presentation! I really like the idea of the "library" being a living and learning artifact. It solidified a thought that I had about showcasing student work in the library, only with your thought there is an intention behind showcasing the learning and I think that that is a very powerful piece. I also really liked that you highlighted the fact that the library is more than any one idea, but rather a culmination of actions, ideas, and connections. Well done!
